TV is going Digital, are you ready?
Many people are still confused about the ASO (analogue switch off), and DTT (digital terrestrial television).

Here are some facts concerning Irish DTT
the ASO will take place in Ireland later this year on Wednesday October 24th.

if you receive your Public Service Broadcaster (PSB) channels, ie. RTE1,RTE2,TV3,TG4,
via an aerial and have not yet upgraded to digital, you will lose your channels on October 24th.
If you receive your TV from SKY, UPC, or any pay TV or cable company you will not be affected.
If you have already upgraded to digital and are receiving the  new Irish DTT service you're done and ready for ASO.
If you have an aerial and are receiving a decent picture on TV3, all you may need is an Irish DTT approved set top box or approved TV.

A few warnings about digital TV
there is no such thing as a 'digital aerial', so do not be fooled by scam artists trying to sell you one.

there are no 'saorview' approved or registered installers, 'saorview' is a TV platform and has no involvement in the installation trade, so beware chancers who say they are approved.

Only buy 'Saorview' approved equipment, non approved boxes may work now, but there is no guarantee that they will work in the future. So again beware chancers bearing 'cheap' non approved equipment.
